Engagement Pictures

Last Saturday we went to Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis for our engagement pictures. It was originally scheduled for a date in May, but weather.com was calling for overcast, cloudy skies and rain the entire day so we rescheduled. Ironically, that day was warm, sunny and completely gorgeous.

The weather wasn't too bad last Saturday, it was sunny and warm but the problem was the humidity. Its one thing that I just can't stand about Maryland. By the end of the picture session I was pretty sure my hair was a frizzy mess and all of my make up had slide off my face. Looking in the mirror afterwards, I wasn't too far off.

The park is absolutely gorgeous. There is a large fountain in the center, a bridge over a small pond with turtles, a gazebo and a section down by the water that's really pretty. It took us about an hour to take the pictures and I should have them soon.

I'm pretty confident that despite the humidity they turned out really well. I think I did a bit too much research on photographers because each time she set us up for a shot I pretty much could guess what angle she was taking it at and how it would look. Now I'm just trying to patient until they get here!

In other wedding related news, I finally canceled the winery. I received the delivery confirmation/certified mail receipt that they received the letter, but nothing back yet about the deposit. Today is exactly 3 months until the wedding. I can't believe it. I feel like I've been planning this forever and it just seems crazy that it could actually be this close.

I finally ordered the candles for the centerpieces and the sticker monograms that are going on our favor boxes. I'll probably make attach the stickers this weekend. I am taking off work next Friday to get the invitations done. I can't seem to get them done on the weekends because I have a million and a half other things to do. But Friday is dedicated to nothing but invitation printing, embossing and assembling.

I also took advantage of a gigantic Vistaprint sale today. Have you used Vistaprint yet? If not, you need to go there and sign up for their emails. They are constantly sending out emails for free items. Today I purchased a return address stamp for the back of the invitations, return address stickers with my new name for the thank you cards after the wedding, a small banner with Bride & Groom on it that I'm going to put up near our table at the reception, a pen with our names and the date and postcards that I'm going to use for photo sharing.

I created an account on Shutterfly and set it up to where we have a website where people can upload photos. Hopefully people will do it!

I also found our potential DJ today. He's giving us a great price and it was very easy to talk to him over the phone. Hopefully we can make a decision on that by the end of the week!
