At the end of September we visited our venue with our coordinator. It turns out that we can fit everyone into one room which saves us money! I came home and created a basic sketch of how everything will fit into the room. I'm excited! I'm still waiting to get a confirmation back from the venue, but it looks like our price went from $1050 to $700. Yay!!!
Our coordinator is also our caterer. We came up with a basic meal plan:
- Cheese and fruit display immediately after ceremony.
- Choice of soup or salad
- Choice of rigatoni with meatballs or crab cake with roasted garlic mashed potatoes

I thought you were DIY the catering? How much is the catering at the venue?
ReplyDeleteNo, we're not DIYing, but are are using connections. My fiances brother owns a restaurant and his girlfriend runs it. They're going to handle all of the food for us. Our venue doesn't offer catering. They only provide the room. Luckily, the venue, rentals, and caterer are still costing us less than using an all-inclusive type venue. That typically doesn't happen, but we're getting the discount on the food and a 20% discount on the rentals because I work next door to the rental company we're using.
